The FORCE and Francis Clark 10k, 5k and Family runs will be held at Powderham Castle on Sunday 8th September 2013 from 11 am. The 10k route will start on the field in front of the Castle, go up the driveway, along the footpath and out onto the road - taking in the wonderful estuary view. There is then a climb to the forests behind the Castle, before a cross-country track leading back to the terraces. UK children less likely to be diagnosed with ADHD

New research suggests that children are far less likely to be diagnosed with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in the UK than they are in the USA.

However, the same study, led by the University of Exeter Medical School, suggests that autism diagnosis is still rising.

The study is published online in the Journal of Autism Developmental Disorders, published by Springer, and was supported by the NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care in the South West Peninsula (NIHR PenCLAHRC).

A prestigious education prize has been awarded to an academic from the University of Exeter for a research paper on literacy practices for children with severe learning difficulties. Devon woman charged with murder

A 33 year old woman, Teresa Rylands, has been charged with the murder of a Neil Mitchell, a 48 year old man. This is in connection with an incident at an address in Newton Abbot on the 13th August 2013. She has been remanded in police custody and will appear at Torbay Magistrates Court in the morning, on the 29th August 2013.

Family Fun Bike Ride to Escot

The Tour of Britain cycle race returns to Devon

The East Devon coastal town of Sidmouth will be the riders’ start location for Stage 6 of the Tour.

As in 2011, the riders will once again pass right through the centre of Exeter.

For the first time in the modern era of the race, riders will finish Stage 6 with a King of the Mountains climb on Dartmoor. With its stunning landscape and breathtaking views Dartmoor is a perfect setting for a cycle race and will present a real challenge for the riders and a great location for spectators.

Diggerland's Dress Up Day

On Sunday 15 of September all Diggerland parks will be letting dressed-up children under the age of 16 into the park for free! All children have to do to be eligible for free entry is to arrive at the Diggerland park dressed up as a construction worker and be accompanied by a full paying adult. It's as simple as that. However, this doesn't mean just wearing a pair of boots or holding a toy hammer in your hand, we want the full works! Preferably all participating children will be wearing clothing such as Hi Vis vests, hard hats, tool belts and overalls, like a real construction worker....
