The 61-year-old music weekly the NME (New Musical Express) has voted The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths as its favourite album of all time .
In a poll of its journalists past and present, the magazine this week reveals its top 500 albums ever; and with a nod to the changing nature of the music business and people's listening habits, or perhaps in a typically knowing bit of irreverence, described its poll as "the final, definitive, definitely last of its kind, never to be repeated, comprehensive and absolutely accurate word on the best records ever."
Saltrock, the UK’s original surf lifestyle company is to open a brand new store in Exeter’s Princesshay on Saturday 26 October 2013.
The new store will occupy the unit between schuh and LK Bennett, in the heart Princesshay, offering collections for men, women and children.

A local Exeter restaurant, Harry’s on Longbrook Street, has secured its future through a mortgage from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking after its leasehold was due to expire.
Owner, Samantha Pounds, approached the bank when the owners of the building declared their intention to sell the property and the restaurant’s future was put into question.
With the additional support of £150,000 from the Regional Growth Fund, Samantha was also able to secure future employment opportunities for the local area.

Babbacombe Model Village is hosting a popularity contest – for small gorillas.
It’s all part of Paignton Zoo’s Great Gorillas Project. More than 20 gorilla models designed and created by schools from across the region will gather at the Model Village over half term.
Visitors will be able to vote for their favourite. The winning school will receive free visits to both Paignton Zoo and Babbacombe Model Village. Children will be allowed to vote for their own gorilla.
