Exeter Cathedral's professional choir returns for its popular seasonal concert, supported by Rathbones Investment Management.

Well-known carols and new works will be joined on the programme by some lighter Christmas items.

Exeter singers survive X Factor's cruel new boot camp format

Last night millions of people watched as Devon's Shelley Smith and Luke Friend passed through X Factor's new look boot camp.

Single mum Shelley from Exeter and 19 year old Luke from Teignmouth, wowed the judges with renditions of Respect by Aretha Franklin and Alone by Heart respectively.

Shelley was a hit with the talent show's judging panel as mentor Sharon Osbourne gave her one of her six coveted seats, thus giving her a pass to the next stage - Judge's Houses.

To coincide with Hospice Care Week (7th-11th October) and World Hospice & Palliative Care Day (12th October), local charity Hospiscare is announcing its plans to build a state-of-the-art day hospice in Honiton. Offering patients, families and carers easy access to a multi-disciplinary medical, health and social care team in one location, the new day hospice will provide invaluable services and support for the whole East Devon region.

Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Sidmouth to appear before Exeter Crown Court

Update: A 41-year old male from Sidmouth, Nicholas Jameson, has been charged with the murder of a 71-year-old Nottingham man, Brian Kemp. Jameson appeared at Exeter Magistrates Court on Saturday 28 September 2013, where he was remanded in custody to appear before Exeter Crown Court.

Pluss is the first organisation to help out the disabled supporters of Exeter City Football Club by providing a wind break for the front of the accessible viewing platform.

David Evans, from ECFC said “Exeter City Disabled Supporters Association (ECDSA) is always looking at ways to improve the match day experience at Exeter City for supporters with disabilities. 50 people attended a public meeting at Countess Wear Community Primary School on Friday 27 September which had been called by South West Water to discuss sewage odour problems experienced by local residents. The meeting was chaired by Ben Bradshaw MP.
