Mental Health Charities across Devon are hosting events for World Mental Health Day next week (10 October).
The International event supported by the World Health Organisation aims to raise awareness of mental health problems as well as the support services available.
Mind Exeter and East Devon is among charities hosting events with an open day at its Haven Centre on Honiton High Street next Tuesday (8 October).
At the event people can learn more about the services offered and try free taster sessions of reflexology and Tai Chi.
Saks in Princesshay, one of Exeter’s favourite hair and beauty salons, has a brand new star. Adam Barkworth, who has been training with Saks since September 2012, has won the highly regarded title of Advanced Apprentice of the Year in the National Saks Education Awards 2013.
Adam achieved this fantastic award through in-depth research into styles and trends and drawing inspiration from the environment around him. By collating pictures, colour swatches and examples of make-up, fashions and hair styles, Adam was able to decide on his final look for the competition.

New research has revealed that individuals with the highest metabolic rates within populations should be the least pre-occupied with keeping track of changes in their environments that could lead them to sources of food. Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park employee Rebecca Tapp has recently taken a once in a lifetime trip to become a volunteer teacher in South Africa. Less than two weeks after local charity See the Future had a collection pot stolen from a shop in Honiton, Devon’s social media users have come to the aid of the charity and helped it win a charity donation from the Exeter Cleaning Company.
