Update: man arrested on suspicion of rape

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of rape in a Honiton car park last weekend.

He has been bailed until Febuary 2014.

The amount of long term unfurnished empty properties in Teignbridge stood at 385, a reduction of 156 since the same time four years ago.

Peaches Geldof could face a criminal investigation for allegedly naming two women who allowed their children to be abused by Ian Watkins on twitter.

In a tweet Geldof, 24 posted names of the two women claiming that the names had been released by the court.

The women had been granted anonymity for life and publishing their details is a criminal offense.

Police have previously warned against identifying those with legal anonymity on social media such as twitter as it could lead them to harm.

The value of online currency Bitcoin has exploded as speculators push its trading price above £600 per coin.

Two young scholars at the University of Exeter have been recognised with highly prestigious Philip Leverhulme Prizes.

Astrophysicist Dr. Stefan Kraus and Modern Languages film historian Professor Sally Faulkner have each been awarded prizes of £70,000 for their respective work on star and planet formation and Spanish cinema.

Npower to cut 1,500 UK staff

‘Big Six’ Energy Company, RWE Npower who scrapped the £4 billion Devon wind farm, has announced today plans to cut 1,500 jobs in the UK.

The cuts are the latest development in a series of re-structuring moves which have lead to speculation that RWE Npower may be preparing for a departure from the UK energy market.

On Tuesday (26 Novemeber), RWE Npower scrapped plans to build the “Atlantic Array”, a wind farm off Devon’s Coast.

The plans to build 240 wind turbines in the Bristol Channel had been expected to cost nearly £4 billion.
