The master of blues returns! For almost 40 years, Kent and his beloved Leadbessie, a beaten up 1934 National Steel Guitar, have wowed audiences worldwide. His exceptional guitar playing and deep, intriguing voice combine to set the old style delta blues alight.
Kent's life stories of friendships and loves, the history of blues music, the men who developed it, and his incredible involvement with some of them characterise his shows and have his audiences laughing and crying in equal measure.
From Saturday 1 March, the public are being given the chance to see behind closed doors at Knightshayes on the outskirts of Tiverton; as previously unseen kitchen areas are being opened up for the first time in over forty years.
Some of the areas being shown in the servant’s wing, known as the East Wing, have been shut off from the public since the house came into the care of the National Trust in 1972. Much of the space was converted into a two storey flat for Lady Joyce Amory, the championship winning golfer and last member of the family to live at Knightshayes; and when she died...

The fire was extinguished by fire crews using three hose reel jets, one compressed air foam systems jet and two breathing apparatus wearers. Devon and...
The exhibition ‘Soft Estate’, the title of which derives from the Highways Agency term used to describe the natural habitats that have evolved along motorways and trunk roads, looks at how green borders offer a refuge for wildlife and a modern form of wilderness in the midst of intense urbanisation and agrochemical farming.
Artist and academic Edward Chell investigates these contemporary motorway landscapes, linking them to 18th century ideas of the picturesque to explore the interface between history, ecology, roads and travel through a series of new works.
