Exeter law firm Browne Jacobson’s client service has been rated ‘exceptional’ by a leading independent body after it became the first UK law firm to undergo an assessment by Investor in Customers (IIC) and be awarded top marks for client service by the leading independent body.

Flybe bounces back to profit

Flybe has returned to profits after a major shake up of the Exeter-based business.

The airline reported pre-tax profits of £8.1m in the year to the end of March, up from a £41.1m pre-tax loss in the previous year. Total revunue rose 11pc to £868.4m.

Extra funding for families with special educational needs

Councils across the South West are to receive a share of over £4.3 million in new funding to help prepare for the biggest transformation of Special Educational Needs and disabilities support in over thirty years. The new money will support councils in giving young people and parents greater say over their personalised care and assistance. It will also put in place a new birth-to-25 system for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities.

Appeal following dangerous driving incident

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Exeter city centre on Tuesday 20 May.

A black Vauxhall Vectra failed to stop for police and was driven dangerously through the city centre at 11.30am.

The car was driven along the pavement on Western Way, nearly knocking over pedestrians, and damaged a number of other vehicles before the three occupants got out of the car in Magdalen Road.

Three men, aged 27, 36 and 39, from Exeter, were arrested nearby.
