Teignbridge launches Great Outdoor Workouts
People are being encouraged to breathe new life into their training by taking it outside, with fitness classes at Teignbridge District Council owned leisure centres and parks.
Yogalates, Tai Chi and boot camp are heading for the outdoors from Monday 7 July and for one week only they will be free to existing members!
Teignbridge District Council is putting on the classes to help people energise their lifestyles and try something new.
Fitness instructors will guide and motivate those taking part in each session which can also be a great opportunity for people to enjoy exercise while building new social networks with like-minded people - with the added bonus of it being in the fresh air.
Cllr George Gribble, Teignbridge District Council’s Executive spokesman for Communities, Recreation and Leisure, said: “This great new offering is the perfect opportunity for people to revamp their fitness routines, or try something new without paying a penny if they go along in the first week.
“If people enjoy it, they have the opportunity of joining our leisure centres at really competitive prices. Our monthly memberships are not only affordable, exceptional value for money and flexible but they also allow for a bit of mixing and matching. There’s no joining fee and no contract to be tied into.
“For example, people can take up the Jam Packed package which includes all leisure centres, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, exercise classes and Shaldon Golf Course or they can opt for Jump n Pump which is fitness suites only.
“Water lovers have the option of going for the swim-only Aquasize package. We’ve also got 30-day packages and discounted rates for juniors and students so there is something for everyone.
“By taking the inside outside, we are improving what we offer to our residents while showing off some of Teignbridge’s best green assets. And if the weather is not so kind, the classes will be taken back inside to the local leisure. So what are you waiting for? Come along and have a go!”
