Oxfam Exeter to Exmouth Kayak Rally

The fourth annual Oxfam Exeter to Exmouth Kayak Rally will take place on Saturday 5 July offering an opportunity for all paddlers, of all ages and capabilities, to take up an enjoyable or challenging supervised family day out for a worthy cause.

With a growing number of participants entering each year, it is hoped to surpass the record set last year of 163 paddlers in 109 craft, raising £1400 for Oxfam. 10th UK Taiko Festival

The 10th UK Taiko Festival will feature the widest range of taiko events yet; including performances, workshops and other opportunities for taiko players from across the UK and beyond to come together to share, inspire and celebrate.

The festival starts with a bang on Friday 4 July with Feast of Taiko, a concert showcasing youth groups from around the UK.

On Saturday 5h July at 1pm will be Taiko Beats featuring 10 groups from all over the world and the headlining concert, Summer Thunder takes place on Saturday evening at 7.30pm.

Sobinov and Exeter Children's Orchestra

The Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments was founded in 1962. In March 2012 they celebrated their 50th Anniversary.

In 2013 they visited the UK for the first time; this included a concert in Exeter. The orchestra also performed in Moscow where they were awarded the Laureate Diploma.

Pavel Sergeev is the current conductor of the Orchestra which includes children of 11-18 years old.

There are 35 members in the current orchestra and their repertoire includes classical, folk and modern melodies.
