The new edition of an influential guide to the legal profession has singled out 27 lawyers from one of Devon’s top firms as “leaders in their field”. Tomorrow’s scientists and engineers can now apply for places at the county’s newest school, the South Devon University Technical College in Engineering, Water and the Environment, which opens its doors to the first intake of students this time next year.

Devon and Cornwall Police have been criticised in a report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary.

This is the sight that awaits Exeter Chiefs fans when they arrive at Sandy Park for the first game of the season next Saurday.

Work has been continuing late into the night to ensure the multi-miliion pound improvement works are complete.

The west stand has been extended, the east stand now has terracing and the pitch is a mixture of grass and a state-of-the art synthetic material.

Sandy Park will be one of the best stadiums in the Aviva Premiership thanks to the summer investment.

Students offered counselling after boy's death

Students at an Exeter school mourning the loss of one of its pupils have been offered grief counselling.

Emergency services were called to Topsham Road near Countess Wear at 3.10pm on Thursday 28 August, after a collision between Leo Gregory, from Exeter, and a skip lorry at the pedestrian crossing.

Leo sustained serious injuries and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

The lorry driver was uninjured.
