This event is open to all groups, individuals or corporate teams who want to support a worthwhile local cause - The Exeter Foundation.
Starting at Sandy Park, the 10 mile walk takes a circular route through the beautiful Exe Valley and back to Sandy Park, where you can round the day off with a drink and a famous Sandy Park pasty while watching Rugby World Cup pool match between New Zealand and Argentina.

Exeter Chiefs fans will have the rare opportunity to see the team train on November 5th, when Sandy Park opens for its annual b2b@SandyPark exhibition. An open training session will be taken between 11.30 and 12.30 as part of the packed schedule planned for visitors to the exhibition, which also involves a networking breakfast featuring Mark Evans-Martin of Sumaq Ltd, who will be giving an insight into how the Chiefs use data to enhance their on pitch performance. Tom Merson from Bristol and West AC retained his winning title at Exeter’s 30th Great West Run 2014 this morning, with a time of one hour nine minutes and twenty one seconds, in good running conditions. In second place was Anders Grahl from Exeter University in one hour ten minutes and thirty seconds, followed by Shaun Antell in one hour ten minutes and forty seconds.

Diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy professionals who are members of the Society of Radiographers will be taking industrial action today (Monday, 20 October).
Radiology departments and cancer treatment centres will be affected by strikes for four hours from 9am-1pm. Emergency and urgent care will continue to be provided but pre-booked appointments and procedures may be affected.
Radiographers will be working to rule for the remainder of the week. This will include taking scheduled breaks and not working unpaid overtime.
Runners raising cash for Hospiscare in the Great West Run received star treatment. The local charity’s fundraising team played drums and cheered the runners at the start of the race in Exeter’s Sidwell Street.
When runners finished they were invited to the Southgate Hotel which kindly hosted a Hospiscare thank you party. Runners were able to shower, enjoy a much needed massage from Hospiscare volunteer complementary therapists and relax on the terrace with coffee.

A survey of women living in Exeter has revealed that nearly 80 per cent have received unwanted presents with more than half practising a pleased face before being given a gift.
The poll, by Persimmon Homes South West, also revealed not only the ultimate list of bad presents but who are the worst gift givers. A quarter said some presents had caused a row while more than half have now told people not to bother giving them gifts as they know they will not like them.

Gidleigh Park has been named as one of the top ten restaurants in Britain by the Sunday Times.
Run by Devon celebrity chef and son of Exeter Michael Caines Gidleigh has won a raft of awards in recent years.
