Exeter’s own independent chocolate company is now busy preparing for Christmas but with some rather exciting news.
Choccie Bar will shortly be tending to the Christmas rush from the company’s new shop in Gandy Street, Exeter.
Cuddled into the corner of the cobbled street (made famous by JK Rowling as the blueprint for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter Books) the former Gandy Street Kitchen closed its doors for the last time on Saturday and will re-open very shortly as the newly minted Choccie Bar in time for late night shopping.
East Devon District Council’s Cabinet has approved a grant to Exmouth Sea Cadets of £150,000 towards the cost of their new headquarters.
This is a key project that will help to kick-start the revitalisation of the Camperdown Creek area.
Cabinet also heard about the successes and progress on a number of other regeneration projects across the district, primarily in Exmouth and Seaton, and agreed to the plans going forward.
Since the Masterplan, or Exmouth vision, was agreed by all three councils (Devon County, East Devon District and Exmouth Town) in 2011 significant...
Exeter City finished on the wrong side of a famous FA Cup upset as Warrington Town earned a place in the second round of the FA Cup at Cantilever Park with a 1-0 win.
It was a header from a corner by Craig Robinson that was inadvertently turned in by Graham Cummins which was the difference on the scoreboard at the final whistle, and gave the Evo-Stik NPL Division One North team a place in the hat.
Liam Sercombe and David Noble came in for Jimmy Keohane and Arron Davies in the two changes Paul Tisdale made to the line-up which...

On 18 August guitar legend Bernie Marsden released his new solo album ‘Shine’ on Provogue Records.
At a rough guesstimate Bernie Marsden’s name appears on a hundred albums – maybe more. In addition to a long-running solo career the Buckinghamshire-born guitarist has been a recording musician since the early 1970s via membership of such groups as Whitesnake, UFO, Wild Turkey, Babe Ruth, Paice Ashton & Lord, Cozy Powell’s Hammer, Alaska, M3 and many more. Though there’s a tendency to pigeonhole him as a blues-rock guitarist, each of Marsden’s acts had its own individual flavour...

Sheep and the wool trade first brought wealth to the South Molton district during the 17th century and indeed the town’s emblem still incorporates a ram at its heart. Even today there are more sheep per acre in this area than anywhere else in the world! So what could be more appropriate than having wool as the theme of this year’s Christmas Fatstock Show, which runs from 10.00am – 4.00pm on Sunday 7 December.
