A consultation is underway on residents' parking in Exeter.
Devon County Council has drawn up the plans for the Burnthouse Lane, Rifford Road, Heavitree, Polsloe and Elizabeth Avenue areas in response to requests from local residents affected by commuter parking.
Residents have until Friday 17 June to comment on the current proposals which are based on feedback from almost 2,000 responses during two previous rounds of consultation last year. Discussions have also been held with local members, and the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) considered the plans...
AN East Devon caravan and camping park has received a major boost with an investment of more than half a million pounds.
And the Franks family, who own Oakdown Holiday Park, near Sidmouth, have plans for further improvements and development in the coming months.
The investment includes the addition of 10 new holiday units at the park, which overlooks the East Devon countryside. These luxurious units are let on a weekly basis - with many guests, some the third or fourth generation of the same family, returning annually.
Children and young people staying in the RD&E’s Bramble Unit now have a completely revamped outside play area thanks to a massive fundraising drive by local people.
More than £32,000 has been raised since 2014. The Exeter Lions, who funded the original play area built in the mid-1980s, kick-started and then masterminded a fundraising campaign which was joined by the Exeter Foundation, bike riders from ‘ Otter Wheels’ , and backed up by other donations from a multitude of other generous individuals, including the children themselves.
The appearance of Exeter Chiefs in their first-ever Aviva Premiership final is not the end of the journey, but merely the start according to head coach Rob Baxter. The Devonians will head to the capital this week with a hearty travelling tribe of thousands looking to cement themselves as the undisputed champions of England. Standing in their way, however, will be a formidable Saracens side, who themselves will be bidding to reclaim the title they won 12 months ago against Bath at Twickenham – and adding it to the European crown they have already picked up just a fortnight ago. It will be a...

Proposals to carry out £1.9 million of work to prevent potholes on Devon’s roads have been drawn up.
Devon County Council is preparing a programme of repairs using funding awarded from the Government’s Pothole Action Fund earlier this year.
Devon’s £1,952,000 share of the Pothole Action Fund is in addition to £41,155,000 of capital funding which the County Council has received from the Department for Transport.
Each County Council division area will receive at least £14,500 for repairs to ensure minor roads are repaired right across the county. Funding above that...
A yellow warning for rain has been issued in Devon for tomorrow.
Revelers planning to go along to the Radio 1 Big Weekend at Powderham Castle are being urged to pack their waterproofs and be prepared.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Although some places will remain dry during Saturday, scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop through the afternoon and continue into the evening in places, so be aware of the potential for localised surface water flooding, whilst lightning and hail will also be additional hazards for travel and outdoor activities.”...
