Specialists at leading law firm Foot Anstey have advised the highly creative children's media business, Silvergate Media, on their partnership with private equity firm Shamrock Capital Advisors.

Event to help communities prepare for emergencies

A free event to help communities across Devon prepare for incidents such as severe weather and flooding is being held near Exeter next week.

First million pound community ‘claim’ for Teignbridge

Teignbridge District Council has issued its first £1m community charge to developers building new homes at Sentry’s Farm in Exminster.

Known as the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), this levy or charge on new housing and some retail developments will be used to fund infrastructure such as schools, green spaces, cycle paths and road improvements, providing vital facilities for Exminster residents.

Housing developers are required to pay a levy to Teignbridge at the start of house building.

Despite failing to win a seat, the Green Party is now the third party in Exeter, achieving a higher proportion of the vote than either the Lib Dems or UKIP. The Party’s lead candidate in St David’s and former parliamentary candidate, Diana Moore, came fifth in the ward.
