Jack Nowell says there has been little time for him and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates to dwell on the disappointment of last weekend’s European Champions Cup loss at the hands of Bordeaux Begles.

The Chiefs saw their European aspirations suffer more disappointment as they slipped to a third successive defeat in Pool 5, going down 13-7 at Sandy Park to the visiting Frenchmen.

This Saturday the two sides will lock horns in the latest round of action, this time at the Stade Chaban Delmas (2pm), and Nowell insists the Premiership club will be looking to bounce back at the first...

Christmas is coming and, to get in the mood, I headed to Killerton House’s Christmas wonderland.

Picking the Christmas tree has been a tradition in my family since I can remember. Unlike the advent calendar (which is often started late), it is the definitive mark of our Christmas beginning.

So to roll this into a festive house, lit garden and carol singers was the perfect first note to start our Christmas.

Each year, the house is beautifully decorated to a theme. Last year, it was an enchanting Narnia and this year, it was Brother’s Grimm story. It was enchanting to...

They have found that a lot of people arriving at key destinations in the city are coming from a set number of starting points and are investigating the possibility of an low cost, on-demand minibus service to reduce the number of private cars being driven each day. They believe...

Local celebrities in the mix at Darts Farm

The festive season kicked off slightly early this year for local charity Families for Children Adoption. Over 30 adopted children were invited to stir up some Christmas puddings with charity Patrons, Michael Caines MBE, Judi Spiers and David Lawrence-Jones.

Stir up Sunday is traditionally the day for everyone in the family to take a turn at stirring the Christmas pudding, whilst making a wish. Earlier this month at Darts Farms, Michael, Judi and David rolled up their sleeves to help adopted children from across the region do just that and create their own Christmas puddings....

Police are urging revellers in the South West to be on their best behaviour as figures show one in three violent crimes on the region’s railway last Christmas were alcohol-related.

Our officers arrest more people for violent and public order offences at this time of year than for any other type of incident, with 73 such crimes being recorded in the South West.

Of those offences, nearly a third were alcohol-related, and officers are now carrying out extra patrols and encouraging passengers to keep a clear head in a bid to reduce the national rise in violence seen on the rail...

Confidence on the rise for SW businesses

A new report on the UK economy reveals that whilst business confidence continues to bump along the rails, the South West region is showing the greatest recovery in sentiment after the post-Brexit shockwave.

Top 40 accountants Bishop Fleming cited the recent report by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW) as evidence that although uncertainty persists in the business community over what the UK's future will look like outside the European Union, the Westcountry is bristling with more confidence than the rest of the country.

The ICAEW's "UK...
