As part of a continued initiative to get young people engaged with sport, Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby, along with BT (a long-term supporter of disability sport in the UK), hosted the second Youth Tournament for the sport at Stoke Mandeville Stadium on the 19th of November where local team the Exeter Hawks were crowned champions. A group of passionate individuals from the cheese industry have been working closely together over the past two years, to establish a professional accreditation programme for the cheese sector.

Woodburn ready for Worcester test

Olly Woodburn has happy memories of tackling Worcester Warriors at Sandy Park and he’s hoping for more of the same when Exeter Chiefs play host to the Midlanders again tomorrow in the Aviva Premiership (4:30pm).

Back in April Woodburn produced a man of the match display, scoring a hat-trick of tries, as Rob Baxter’s side dispatched of the Warriors 50-12.

TERRIFYING! The knives handed in during police amnesty

The knife amnesty held last week (15-21) by Devon and Cornwall Police saw over 200 knives of varying types being handed in at police stations across the force area.

These knives are no longer at risk of falling into the wrong hands, nor will they be responsible for causing harm. They will be destroyed in the next few weeks.

The variety of knives is staggering – from small pocket knives and illegal lock knives to commando and Nepalese kukri-type knives, along with a random assortment of knives found in a typical kitchen.

Rob Baxter has challenged his Exeter Chiefs side to build on last week’s away win at Newcastle Falcons with an equally strong display against visiting Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership tomorrow (4:30pm).

A Spanish doctor from the Emergency Department (ED)at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital has been has won a national award for his inspirational contribution to his patients and colleagues.
