Even if she had, the baby reindeer was so small she couldn’t have reached the teats! So for the first 10 days of her life, I had to hand feed her with a bottle. Luckily she grew quickly and was soon able to feed from her mother – which was a relief as reindeer milk is 20% fat so is hard to substitute for a long period. A partnership of three research institutions, led by the University of Exeter, has secured a £5m award to help protect the beautiful natural resources and the jobs dependent on them in the South West.
Experts from Exeter, working with scientists at the University of Plymouth and Plymouth Marine Laboratory, will work with businesses, policy makers and other organisations in the region to help them enhance their activities and decisions by applying the latest technological advances, scientific research and understanding of the environment.
A giant snow globe in the city has raised over £1,200 for Exeter Deaf Academy, Princesshay’s charity of the year. The snow globe allows passers-by to climb inside, play in the pretend snow and have a festive photo taken.
