Rob Baxter says his Exeter Chiefs squad are ‘fully focused’ on the task ahead as they gear up for tomorrow’s Aviva Premiership trip to Worcester Warriors (3pm). Fresh from a hard fought draw against table-toppers Wasps last Sunday, the Chiefs will be looking to consolidate their top three position by inflicting yet another league defeat on their hosts, who themselves warmed up for this latest clash by downing reigning champions Saracens on their own turf last time out. They’re still smiling! Not many people would be if their computer mini server packed with important data accidentally fell into a fish tank.

This demonstration had a happy ending at Exeter’s Cyber Security Awareness Week, where experts stressed the importance of backing up precious data and the dangers of it falling into the wrong hands. Or indeed a threat closer to home, data simply falling into the family fish tank. The server recovered completely from its unexpected dip, hence smiles all round, to the relief of the audience.

A Dawlish man has shared his own experience in support of a national campaign promoting participation in health research.

The National Institute for Health Research promotes opportunities for taking part in clinical research and the benefits for patients through its campaign called ‘Our Stories.’

Howard Almond was diagnosed in 2015 with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) which progressively scars the lung and affects breathing. The cause of IPF is unknown and there is currently no cure for this condition. The British Thoracic Society estimates 5,000 people are diagnosed...

Cannabis seized during farm drug bust

Police in North Devon have seized around £250,000 worth of cannabis following execution of a warrant in North Devon last Friday (10th February).

Acting on local intelligence, officers from the Force Support Group (FSG), along with support from the local policing team executed a warrant to search a farm north of Okehampton.

Police discovered an underground, purpose built cannabis factory and seized equipment and cannabis with a street value of around £250,000.

Very special guests, nineties girl band All Saints, have added their name to a sensational line-up of artists performing at this year’s Sounds of the Summer festival at Newton Abbot Racecourse.

East Devon residents to have their say on new ward boundaries

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England is asking people across East Devon to comment on its draft proposals for new council ward boundaries.

An eight-week public consultation on the recommendations begins today and will end on 3 April 2017. The consultation is open to anyone who wants to have their say on new council wards, ward boundaries and ward names across East Devon.
