Local Kia dealership, Marsh Kia, is proud to announce its support of Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust for the next three years.

The sponsorship supports the trust’s transport division in raising funds for a stair lifter. The stair lifters provide an easy and safe method of moving patients from their accommodation to the ambulances. Marsh Kia will make a donation every quarter to fund the costs of a stair lifter, which equates to around £6,000.

Some of Devon's best-loved characters came together last week (05 July) at Ladram Bay Holiday Park to celebrate the start of the high-summer holiday season. The mascots, representing some of the county's leading visitor attractions, went head-to-head in a lighthearted golf match cheered on by holidaymakers. Ottery shoppers help Devon’s beavers

East Devon shoppers have been doing their bit for the River Otter beavers through a local store’s fundraising scheme.

Staff at Roberts, Ottery St Mary’s venerable hardware and homeware shop, set up a ‘book and DVD’ stall in the store, with each item available for a £1 donation. And last month they reached the milestone of £1000 raised for the River Otter Beaver Trial, the Devon Wildlife Trust-led project that is monitoring the beaver population and its effects for the next five years.

Woman and child among three dead in A38 crash

Three people died and nine people were left injured in a serious multiple vehicle collision on the A38 near Landrake yesterday morning [Sunday 9 July].

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called at 11.15am following the collision involving five cars between Tideford and Landrake.

A woman and a child from one car sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. A second child from the car sustained potentially serious head injuries and was airlifted by air ambulance to Bristol Children’s Hospital. The injuries are not believed life-threatening at this...
