My life on and around the council estate was like most of the people, there was honour amongst thieves, my mother left home when I was 9 to live with some guy who came to fix the washer..!!

I thought my life would be a life of crime, detention centres, borstal and then prison, I openly admit I didn't grow up till I was 25. In those days it was easy to become an arsehole in that environment, my Dad liked a drink and a fight but not always in that order.

Red ribbon opening for Mamhead’s £1.5 million slipway

Exmouth’s new £1.5 million Mamhead Slipway has been officially opened, restoring the vital maritime access to the town’s wonderful waterside after an absence of more than four years.

Larger and more practical than the previous structure, the new slipway on the River Exe reinstates the town’s maritime leisure tradition and will bring more business to the town. The majority of the work was funded by East Devon District Council with Devon County Council putting £275,000 in to the project.

Killerton Estate in Devon walked away with the top Overall Drinks Award at the National Trust’s annual Fine Farm Produce Awards, presented at BBC Countryfile Live in the grounds of Blenheim Palace.
