Glazebrook House Hotel in Devon has been chosen as Hotel of the Year in the Sawday’s British Hotel awards. Tom Bell, Special Places to Stay: British Hotels & Inns editor says: “So many large hotels are anonymous spaces where you are known only by your room number and left to fend for yourself. Small hotels are the polar opposite: warm, intimate places that aren't ruled by a set of corporate instructions.

Health and wellbeing charity puts best foot forward for the Great West Run

EXETER health and wellbeing charity the CITY Community Trust is standing by its values and has 30 runners training for the Great West Run – the largest team from one single organisation to take part in this year’s race.

And the charity is supporting two other causes – Exeter Sports Fund and Children’s Hospice South West.

Exeter BID lights up the city

For the second year in a row, Exeter Business Improvements District (BID) will hold the city’s Christmas lights switch on event with a huge party for all the family to enjoy scheduled to take place in Princesshay Square on Thursday 16 November.

As well as live music from local musicians, the evening will mark the official switching on of Exeter’s city-wide festive illuminations and kick off the first of six Thursdays leading up to Christmas, when shops will stay open until late.
