Already a serious player in the organic and grass-fed meat sector, Bratton Clovelly based Eversfield Organic is acquiring The Well Hung Meat Company, taking effect as of today, Thursday 16th November 2017. The acquisition will position Eversfield Organic in the top three organic box delivery businesses nationwide and cement its position as a market leader with a combined turnover of over £5 million.

ThinCats, the alternative funding specialist, has announced a senior hire to cover the South-West region.

Alison Whistance joins ThinCats as Origination Manager, South-West, as ThinCats gears up for its next period of growth, and after the company announced a £200m funding programme in conjunction with its parent company ESF Capital.

Success stories from some of the region’s leading and emerging technology companies will be highlighted at a ‘Best of the West’ showcase later this month.

The event is being run by Tech South West and will see 20 tech firms highlight their successes and future plans for 2018 and beyond. It will also bring together people working in the sector in the region to connect with potential collaborators, customers, investors and suppliers.

Exeter-based rugby player Don Armand has cautiously welcomed military action in Zimbabwe which could see an end to 93-year-old president Robert Mugabe's reign.

Don spent his childhood on a 1,000-acre holding near Harare where is father grew flowers but the family was eventually forced to flee after land owned by white farmers came under siege.

Two talented young researchers at the University of Exeter Medical School have been awarded prestigious Industrial Innovation Fellowships by the National Environment Research Council (NERC) for their work on antibiotic resistance and our natural environment.
