Diabetes Week is taking place from 10 to 16 June 2019 and aims to increase the public’s understanding of diabetes. Diabetes UK Exeter group is running a coffee morning and raffle in Topsham on 11 June and an awareness day on 15 June in Bedford Square, Exeter in conjunction with Exeter Lions.

On top of that, Diabetes UK is asking people to share five facts to help people see diabetes differently:

Local shops and good transport links top the list of priorities for home hunters in Exeter when it comes to choosing where to live.

Five star housebuilder David Wilson Homes has examined the amenities that people rank the most important when it comes to making a location their home.

Exeter secures top 10 status in Guardian league table

The University of Exeter has been ranked as one of the top 10 UK universities in the UK in the influential Guardian University Guide 2020.

The latest league table, released today (June 7th 2019) ranks Exeter tenth of 121 UK higher education institutions – a rise of four places year-on-year.

The twelve athletes who will head to Rotterdam in the Netherlands to represent Great Britain Women at the 2019 European Championships have been named.

The squad aim to realise two ambitions in Rotterdam; achieve a podium finish and secure qualification to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

The European Championships, taking place from 30th June to 7th July 2019, will welcome six competing nations, including World Champions the Netherlands and Rio Paralympic Silver Medallists, Germany.

Exeter graduates donate over 75,000 hours to help West Country students thrive

To mark volunteers week (1-7 June), the University of Exeter is delighted to announce that since 2012 Exeter alumni have donated over 75,000 hours to the ‘ Making the Exceptional Happen ’ Campaign.

The Campaign, Exeter’s most ambitious to-date, originally aimed to achieve 60,000 volunteering hours by 2020, however the commitment and generosity of the alumni community meant that was reached nearly two years early in February 2018. A new target of 90,000 hours has now been set following the milestone achievement.
