A Devon educator has become the first accredited UN climate change teacher in a UK zoo.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) has been awarded the prestigious Disability Confident Leader status by the Department for Work and Pensions. A NOVELIST and two musicians will bring Devon’s 19th century Postman Poet vividly back to life with a vibrant entertainment of words and music at this year's Dartmoor Folk Festival at South Zeal, near Okehampton on Saturday, August 10.

A Ranger from Stover Country Park near Newton Abbot has been shortlisted for a top environmental award.

Rob Ballard is one of seven finalists in the running for the BIG Biodiversity Champion Award 2019.

Visitors to Dartmoor are being urged to help prevent wildfires as the dry weather continues.

Of particular concern are discarded cigarettes, Chinese lanterns and disposable barbecues.

Broken glass, camping stoves matches and lighters are also highlighted as potential dangers.

The call for vigilance has come from the Dartmoor Wild Fire Liaison Group, a body representing land owners, the Dartmoor Commoners’ Council and Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA).

The sun shone brightly the 15th Marnie Burgoyne Memorial Golf Day earlier this month when 50 teams, many from local businesses, took to the fairways at Exeter Golf & Country Club and helped to raise a fantastic £16,717 for local charity Hospiscare .

The day is organised by a committee of volunteers and is held each year in memory of Marnie Burgoyne, who was part of the founding team that helped raise the money to build the hospice building, Searle House, which opened in 1992.
