Lack of awareness hits recruitment industry

A lack of awareness about jobs in the recruitment industry means many people are missing out on a promising career path, a leading business has claimed.

Lee Gamble, managing director of Berry Recruitment which has branches in Truro and Exeter, said part of the reason is because there are no compulsory formal qualifications.

He also believes that the benefits of a career in the industry are not promoted enough and the result is something of a shortage of consultants.

Top 30 firm, Bishop Fleming have been highlighted for their work to remove single use and avoidable plastics across the business.

A live broadcast of the award-winning Fleabag will be coming to the big screen in Vue Exeter this September courtesy of National Theatre.

The one-woman play, written by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, was the inspiration for the phenomenally successful BBC television show of the same name, and has now returned to the West End after a sold-out New York run.

New business initiative to boost Exeter’s B2B trade

To further the growth of Exeter and its business community, Air Marketing Group in partnership with Exeter City Council, Exeter Live Better and Exeter Chamber have teamed up to launch a new business initiative to reduce the amount of B2B trade that leaves the city. Stagecoach South West and The Devon General Society commemorated 100 years of bus travel with two historic buses and a modern Stagecoach South West bus recreating the original Service 2 route from Exeter to Torquay.

RGB Building Supplies has selected Exeter-based Constructing Futures Devon as a finalist in its 30th Well Built Community Fund and it’s now down to a public vote to see if it’s chosen to receive £1,000 worth of building materials.

As part of Devon Communities Together, it has been set up to train young people in the construction industry. Trainees gain first-hand experience by working on properties purchased by Constructing Futures Devon.
