Three rising stars in civil engineering have received prestigious Young Achiever awards from the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) South West.

Peter Boden, who lives in Exeter , was named the south west’s most promising trainee civil engineer; Aiden Shipp, from Paignton , the most promising trainee quantity surveyor; and Sam Beer, from Exeter , the most promising apprentice. They were recognised for their success at a pre-lockdown COVID-secure event sponsored by BAM Nuttall.

Farmers and landowners are being advised to protect themselves from unwanted public rights of way being created, as lockdown 2.0 has again seen an increasing number of walkers in the countryside.

Leading property consultancy Fisher German, which has an office in Exeter, is urging landowners in the South West to protect their interests as the boom in walking during another lockdown period has resulted in more people trespassing.

Trading standards is advising online consumers in Devon to only buy from ‘reputable’ traders, and to refer to a new advice video if they experience any problems.
