The team at Hanlons Brewery had reason to celebrate twice in April having collected two awards at this year’s Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival.

The Festival, organised by SIBA, and now in its 24th Year, showcases the best beers from all over the West Country and beyond. Hanlons’ Port Stout won a Bronze Award whilst newly bottled Stormstay won a Gold.

Having recently been finalists in both the Exeter Living and Express and Echo business awards the team are rightly proud of their performance.

The Gold award means that Stormstay will be automatically entered into this year’s Great British Beer Festival at Olympia.

Last year Port Stout was the only beer from Devon and Cornwall to win an award at the festival.

Since taking over the brewery in 2013 Hanlons has built a reputation for consistency and quality that is clearly paying dividends.

Sales director, Jim Bungard, said "It is fantastic to achieve such recognition for one of our new products and the team are delighted that all the hard work is paying off."

Hanlons Brewery produce a range of award winning craft ales, including their most well-known beer, Yellow Hammer, from their brewery based in Half Moon Village on the outskirts of Exeter.

"The brewery is situated in a beautiful location, nestled amongst the rolling Devon hills and boasts its very own bar and restaurant overlooking the brewery floor.

"The bar is open every Friday from 5pm and is a chance for beer lovers to sample their great ales as well as enjoying delicious home-cooked meals."

Hanlons bottles can be purchased from their on-site shop or from many local farm shops.
