TUI (formerly Thomson) the UK’s largest holiday brand, is celebrating its 10th anniversary of its Placement Scheme for the UK and Ireland business. The scheme, which started on the 7th July 2008, welcomes seven to 10 university students who are in their third year of a ‘sandwich degree’ to TUI’s Head Office in Luton. Two Moors Festival honour for Exeter School musician

A 13-year-old pupil from Exeter School is celebrating being named Young Musician of the Year at the prestigious Two Moors Festival.

Double bass player Adam Cole shares the title with three other young musicians.

Year 9 pupil Adam likes playing classical and jazz music on double bass and piano.

Adam competed against over 50 performers across the South West (all Grade 7 or equivalent and aged 18 or under) and will now perform at the featured Festival Autumn Award Winners Concert in October.

Pupils' work shortlisted for national award

The artwork of two Exeter School pupils has received recognition in a prestigious national award.

William Dean and Lydia Brookes-Ferrari's biological specimen drawings made the shortlist of the Nancy Rothwell Competition.

The national competition is an opportunity for pupils to combine their artistic talents with detailed observations and anatomical knowledge.

Mid Devon student Sharon Birch has spoken of her joy at being award a coveted academic prize after her life changing return to education with an Access to Higher Education course.

Exeter student celebrates win in Deaf Rugby 7s World Championship in Australia

Exeter Deaf Academy student William Thomas has just returned from Sydney, Australia, after being selected to play for the Welsh team in the biggest Deaf Rugby 7’s tournament the world has seen.

This was the first major international Deaf rugby tournament for more than fifteen years, and included both men’s and women’s teams from Australia, England, Fiji, Ghana, Japan and Wales. Wales reached the final having defeated Fiji in the semi-final 26-21, and went on to defeat England 21-15, and take the trophy.

Exeter School is celebrating a pleasing selection of offers across a broad spectrum of universities respected for their teaching and research work.

Healthy drinks brand innocent announces the return of the innocent Big Grow, now in its third year. Returning this spring, the campaign offers 500,000 children the chance to grow their own cress, spinach and peas in the school classroom and – for the first time – at home.
