Georgian Youngster Tchumbadze Becomes a Chief

Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of young Georgian international prop, Bachuki Tchumbadze, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old front rower moves to Devon to play his club rugby outside of his native Georgia for the first time in his career.

“I really enjoy English rugby, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to be a key part of the Exeter Chiefs,” Tchumbadze said.

“I’m well aware of the crucial role that forwards play in the team’s system, and I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Premiership.”

Exeter Chiefs have bolstered their ranks ahead of the new season by recruiting former Harlequins forward Stan South.

The 22-year-old, who can play either at lock or in the back-row, is Rob Baxter's fourth capture of the close season, joining the likes of Stuart Hogg, Tom Price and Will Witty in making the move to Sandy Park.

Exeter Chiefs will reveal their new cup and home kit for the 2019/20 season at a special launch event in July. After the success of last year's event, Rob Baxter and members of the Exeter Chiefs squad will return to Exeter Quay on Saturday, 20th July.

Princesshay is bringing Wimbledon to Exeter with live outdoor screenings of matches on the giant screen. The screen will be in Princesshay Square for the duration of the legendary two-week tournament (Monday 1st July – Sunday 14th July 2019).
