In July EX2 Group was proud to support Building Greater Exeter’s Work Experience Week, an inspiring initiative aimed at introducing Year 10 students to careers in the built environment.

Deckchairs make a welcome return to Sidmouth seafront

The ever-popular deckchairs will be returning to Sidmouth seafront this week says East Devon District Council.

Following the surrender of the deckchair concession by the previous operator, the council’s property services team undertook a marketing exercise which attracted interest from a number of parties. The legal formalities have now been completed and the deckchairs will return to the seafront for the remainder of the 2017 season as well as the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Fans with tickets for Olly Murs’ cancelled Powderham Castle show have been offered replacement tickets for one of the singer’s alternative show dates.

The family of Leah Kerry, the 15-year-old girl who died in a drug related death in Newton Abbot on the 15th July, have paid a touching tribute to their daughter.

Action on Hearing Loss award remembers ‘wonderful’ volunteer

A much-loved volunteer for national charity Action on Hearing Loss was posthumously awarded the Passion in Action accolade for her dedication to the cause.

Police launch investigation after alleged sexual assault in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged sexual assault in Exeter City Centre this weekend.

Police were contacted following reports that a woman in her 20’s was sexually assaulted near Buffet City, between 2.00am and 2.10am on Sunday 23rd July.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection to this incident and has since been released under investigation as police enquiries continue into this matter.

It is believed that there was a witness to the incident who was stood outside Exeter Snooker Club on the corner of Guinea Street and George Street; police...

Further overnight closures on Bridge Road

Overnight closures on Bridge Road in Exeter will continue this week.

The closures will be in place from 8.30pm to 5.30am from Monday 24 July to, and including, Thursday 27 July to enable ongoing surfacing and lining work.

Resurfacing is also being carried out during the remaining night-time closures this week, from 8:30pm to 5:30am tonight (Thursday 20 July) and from 10pm tomorrow (Friday 21 July) to 5am Saturday morning.

All of the work is weather dependent and may have to be cancelled at short notice.

Exeter’s future doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals had the chance to learn more about possible careers in the NHS during Work Observation Week at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
