Alanis Morissette joined by Pale Waves and The Big Moon for Devon date

Guitar indie-pop band Pale Waves and Mercury-nominated The Big Moon are the latest acts heading to the south Devon countryside for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

The bands are joining the line-up for seven-time GRAMMY Award winning Canadian / American artist Alanis Morissette ’s headline show with special guest musical powerhouse Skunk Anansie at TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham on Friday June 26.

Fundraising dinner raises £7,500 to combat homelessness across Exeter

On Friday 12th October YMCA Exeter held its third annual fundraising dinner at Woodbury Park Hotel with guests including The High Sheriff of Devon, Mrs Grania Philips, and Chief Constable of Devon & Cornwall Police, Shaun Sawyer.

The Black Tie event was attended by 160 people and through ticket sales, a silent auction and individual pledges, and so far YMCA Exeter have raised £7,500 with donations still being made.

The 2018 Hospiscare Breakfast Run took place in perfect autumn weather at Knightshayes Court, attracting more than 300 participants who are on track to raise over £10,000.

Exeter street sweeper honoured

A street sweeper who went to the aid of an elderly lady, who had fallen over in Exeter city centre, has won an award. Matt Campbell who is part of Exeter City Council’s city centre team was recognised at Exeter Tidy Group’s Ambassador of the Year Awards. The Awards recognise the people - street sweepers and grounds maintenance staff - who keep Exeter looking good. The Devon County Agricultural Association has announced the appointment of a new Honorary Show Director for its flagship event, the Devon County Show which is held annually on the showground at Westpoint, Exeter.
