The 2018 Hospiscare Breakfast Run took place in perfect autumn weather at Knightshayes Court, attracting more than 300 participants who are on track to raise over £10,000.

The Run was a real family affair, with more groups of multiple generations than ever before, among them Jim and his family. Jim, who completed the longer, 10-kilometre route was taking part in his first-ever charity run - at the age of 81.

Among those keenly anticipating the event were Sabrina Eastley and Caroline, the community nurse who cared for Sabrina’s husband James. Sabrina and Caroline formed a formidable bond, which got the Eastley family through the dark days of James’ illness and their bereavement, and they were delighted to be reunited at the Breakfast Run.

Sabrina said: “It was a lovely event, and seeing Caroline was wonderful - I miss seeing her nearly every day. I just hope our fundraising helps out. It was so nice to be doing something for such a good cause and one that’s close to our hearts.”

Hospiscare is urging fundraisers to pay in their sponsorship money by 4th November to be in with a chance of winning afternoon tea for two at the Hartnoll Hotel. Please call the fundraising office on 01392 688020 for details of how to pay your valued funds across.
