More than 4,000 people fed at Christmas by the Exeter Chiefs Foundation

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation has funded its largest ever Feeding the Community at Christmas campaign, ensuring that 1,100 people received a proper festive feast.

Working in partnership with Exeter Food Action (EFA), the Foundation funded the distribution of essential festive fare – including meat, mince pies and seasonal staples – to 16 different charities and community organisations, supporting people who might otherwise have gone without.

TWELVE percent of drivers in Exeter believe they’d fail their driving test if they had to retake it today – with poor eyesight, bad habits and nerves potentially to blame.

To mark Road Safety Week, a Specsavers poll found that nearly 39% of drivers in the region fear they’d be marked down for their inability to parallel park, while 11% admit they’re now confused by new road signs and driving laws.

After receiving strong backing from local residents, a new Neighbourhood Plan for Bishops Clyst has been formally adopted by East Devon District Council.

Over 80% of referendum voters supported the Bishops Clyst Neighbourhood Plan , which replaces the 2017 version for the area. Now part of the area’s development plan, the framework will work with the East Devon Local Plan to determine planning applications in the Bishops Clyst Neighbourhood Area, covering the parishes of Clyst St Mary and Sowton.

A record-breaking embroidered dress, stitched by 380 people from 51 countries, will be the centrepiece of Killerton’s winter celebrations this year, as the National Trust property honours the spirit of community and creativity.
