Love Local Food Festival Returns to Exeter Castle
The Love Local Food Festival returns to the historic grounds of Exeter Castle on Saturday 15th August, uniting the region's top producers for a day-long celebration. Hosted by the award-winning Greendale Farm Shop in collaboration with Food Drink Devon, this free-to-attend event invites food lovers to explore the best of the West Country from 10am to 6pm.
Set in the heart of the city, the festival promises a day filled with delicious local food, live entertainment and family fun, all designed to champion the incredible growers, producers and makers that make Devon a culinary powerhouse.
With over 80 local producers confirmed, the event offers visitors a brilliant opportunity to taste and purchase directly from the county’s best artisans. Attendees can look forward to a fantastic lineup of Food Drink Devon members including, Bar Buoy, Devon Cove, Edward’s Fudge Kitchen, Good Game Charcuterie, Huxbear Vineyard, Max and Mike’s Street Food, Nicola’s Chocolate, Sharpham Cheese, The Udder Stuff and West Country Olives as well as others.
The Exeter Castle courtyard will be transformed into a foodie paradise, with an extensive street-food selection to satisfy every craving. Alongside the popular Greendale BBQ the lineup includes locally-produced pizza, hot dogs, falafel, Thai food, fresh pasta, corn dogs and a variety of vibrant Caribbean and Japanese street-food dishes.
Tom Lomas, Head of Retail and Hospitality at Greendale Farm Shop, comments on the festival: "The last two festivals have been a fantastic success, and this year’s event will once again be packed with everything from live music, cocktails and incredible street food and Devon produce, to insightful talks and tastings hosted by Food Drink Devon, there really is something for everyone to enjoy."
