Exeter City Football Club has announced a new partnership with Exeter-based engineering firm EX2 Group, who will become the club’s official training wear sleeve sponsor for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

The deal marks the latest step in a growing relationship between the two organisations, which share strong ties to the city and a commitment to supporting the local community.

EX2 Group, a specialist electrical and mechanical engineering company headquartered in Exeter, is already a familiar presence at St James Park, with its branding previously displayed on the club’s dugouts. [exetercityfc.co.uk]

Strengthening local connections

The partnership builds on several years of collaboration between the Grecians and EX2, reflecting a shared focus on sustainability, innovation and long-term investment in the region.

In 2024, EX2’s Eco-Tech division installed more than 100 solar panels at the club’s Cliff Hill Training Ground, helping generate significant renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions. [exetercityfc.co.uk]

The company also played a key role following the fire at St James Park in November 2025, carrying out essential electrical repairs to support the stadium’s reopening. [exetercityfc.co.uk]

Pride in supporting the Grecians

Martyn Beale, Managing Director at EX2 Group, said the partnership reflects the company’s deep connection to Exeter.

“We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Exeter City FC – a club that, like EX2, is rooted in the South West and built on hard work and performance.

“As a business founded in Exeter, supporting our local club is a natural fit, and this partnership is about backing a team that represents our region.”

He added that the company’s commitment to developing future talent aligns closely with the club’s own ethos.

“We’re passionate about investing in the future through our apprenticeship programme, and there’s a clear alignment with Exeter City’s commitment to nurturing talent in the local community.”

Club welcomes continued partnership

Exeter City’s Commercial team also welcomed the announcement, highlighting the strength and longevity of the relationship.

Tom Wenborn, Commercial Sales and Relationship Manager at the club, said:

“The EX2 Group has become a valued and trusted partner of Exeter City over several years, and we are delighted to see that relationship continue to grow through this new training wear sleeve partnership.

“Their support has extended far beyond sponsorship and has made a meaningful difference to the club.”

Looking ahead to the new season

The EX2 branding will now feature on the sleeves of Exeter City’s training kit throughout the 2026/27 campaign, as the club prepares for the season ahead.

The agreement further reinforces the importance of local business partnerships in supporting the club’s ambitions both on and off the pitch, while continuing to strengthen ties between Exeter City FC and the wider community.
