Local transport author and Stagecoach South West Commercial Officer, Pat Avery, has written a book marking the centenary of The Devon General Omnibus and Touring Company Ltd one of the best loved and remembered public transport operators in the country.

The 96 page all colour hardback book ‘100 Years of Buses in Devon’ has been released to commemorate the centenary of The Devon General, and showcases how bus travel has changed and developed over the years.

Exeter College students are celebrating after achieving the best International Baccalaureate (IB) results in the college’s history.

This year the prestigious IB saw a 100% pass rate, with almost a third of students (32%) achieving 40+ points. This is the equivalent of five A Levels at A/A*, putting them in the top five to ten per cent of students in the entire world. Two candidates achieved an incredible 43 out of 45 possible points.

East Devon’s Environmental Health team is strongly advising dog and cat owners who are looking to use boarding facilities over the Summer to check out the premises carefully, go on a tour of where their animals are going to stay and ensure the facility has a current licence. A joint letter has been sent to Sustrans expressing support from a number of local councils for the delivery of the Teign Estuary Trail.

Devon County Council, Teignbridge District Council, and town and parish councils on the Estuary have signed up to the letter which sets out the progress that has been made and the joint commitment being made by the local authorities to continue moving forward with the scheme.
