Guitar indie-pop band Pale Waves and Mercury-nominated The Big Moon are the latest acts heading to the south Devon countryside for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

The bands are joining the line-up for seven-time GRAMMY Award winning Canadian / American artist Alanis Morissette ’s headline show with special guest musical powerhouse Skunk Anansie at TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham on Friday June 26.

The sunshine is out, but it’s never too early to think about Christmas!

Rediscover Church in Northernhay Street, Exeter, each year puts together hampers packed full of food to give out to people in need during the festive season.

We all know during the Christmas season it can be tough on finances, and these hampers are a much needed boost and relief to help people get by, bringing a smile to people’s faces.

East Devon residents call on Devon CPRE to help them fend off solar on farmland

Villagers of Marsh Green in East Devon have made an urgent appeal to the Devon branch of the countryside charity CPRE to help them fight an alarming planning application for a solar farm that they fear would destroy hundreds of acres of productive land and increase the risk of their homes flooding.

New anonymous digital mental health support service launched across Devon

A new free and confidential digital mental health and wellbeing service for adults is now available across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay.

Qwell (www.qwell.io), delivered by mental health provider Kooth , will ensure that every adult living in the Devon has access to a choice of support to managing their own emotional health and wellbeing.

NHS Devon, working in partnership with Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Councils, has commissioned Qwell to provide all adults aged 18+ with free, anonymous, confidential digital mental health support.

Volunteers Making a Difference to Bereaved Youngsters in Exeter

Balloons, a charity based in Exeter that provides bereavement support to young people were delighted to be awarded a grant of £1,950 from the Morrisons Foundation.

Thanks to the donation, the charity will be able to train a new group of volunteer Grief Support Workers.

Nicola Clarke, CEO of Balloons said: “We are delighted to receive this grant from Morrisons Foundation. The funding will enable us to train more volunteers, to support bereaved children and young people.”

Got an urgent health need? NHS 111 can help

Residents and visitors to Devon are being reminded that if they have an urgent health issue this summer they can access medical advice online or by phone 24 hours a day at NHS111 .

Anyone contacting 111 who needs emergency medical care from a hospital Emergency Department (also known as A&E) will be given direct access to the department. Staff at NHS111 can also refer patients through to Minor Injuries Units and Urgent Treatment Centres. This will ensure that people get to the right place for treatment quickly and may reduce their waiting times.

Positive parenting programme Triple P have commented on last night's leadership hustings held in Exeter.

The parenting company work across the UK to support parents develop strategies to manage their child's behaviour and emotions.

Molly Walkers, a resident at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, has recently celebrated her 102nd birthday. To mark the special event, Molly was presented with birthday cards and flowers from family and friends, and the Home’s staff decorated her room for the occasion.
