Princesshay has unveiled its line-up of summer activities, including PrincessPlay; a free playground, alongside the return of its Independent Market, street food traders and live music for visitors to enjoy in the heart of Exeter.

Places filling up fast for ECFC's summer football roadshows

Places are filling up fast for Exeter City FC’s Football in the Community roadshows, which are running throughout the summer holidays across the region.

Next week sees a full week of Grecian Days, which always prove very popular with those who want a look behind the scenes at the football club. Children get a ground tour - and a chance to sit in the boardroom and in the dugout - Domino's Pizza for lunch and lots of fun and games in the Grecian Centre, including DVDs, kit-design competitions and activities.

Vue Cinema offer exclusive viewings of Thomas & Friends; King of the Railway

The Vue cinema has leapt to the rescue of frantic parents who are trying to find ways to amuse their children across the summer holidays. The latest film in the Thomas and Friends adventures is called King of the Railway and is being aired exclusively at Vue cinemas only.

The film, which follows the team as they head off on their journey to try and find new friend Stephen, will be available to view from 23 August. Parents will also be thrilled to hear that the tickets will not leave too big a tent on the purse strings, as the ticket cost starts from just £4.50.

RSCPA urges pet owners to arrange holiday care

The summer holidays are with us, and that means millions of Brits are heading off on holiday. However, one family member is often left behind, the family pet.

The RSPCA has released a statement saying that an increasing number of pets are being left nothing but piles of food whilst their owners go away. This type of ‘care’ is extremely dangerous, as the hot weather could cause the left out food to become inedible.

Young people from across the UK come to Devon for camp extravaganza

The quiet parkland estate of Escot is coming alive this week, taken over by hundreds of young people who are coming to Devon to share a week of entertainment, education and new experiences.

The event has been organised by the Woodcraft Folk, an international youth movement that promotes friendship, equality and cooperation. The camp, which takes place between 24 and 31 July is designed for, and run by the young people involved who are all aged between 16 and 20. Heavitree paddling pools to close on Thursday for essential maintenance

Exeter City Council has announced that Heavitree Paddling Pools will be closed for the day tomorrow (25 July) to allow for the water to be changed.

But fear not, as the pools should be back in action on Friday (26 July), ready for the busy summer period.
