The RHS Rosemoor Garden Festival launches 21-23 August 2026

RHS Garden Rosemoor’s annual Flower Show this year has been re-imagined as a three-day celebration of gardening, plants and outdoor living – the RHS Rosemoor Garden Festival takes place from Friday 21 – Sunday 23 August 2026.

With headline appearances from nationally recognised gardening personalities, gardeners of all skill levels can listen to spotlight talks, get expert gardening advice, watch practical demonstrations, enjoy guided garden tours and browse and buy specialist plants and accessories.

As part of the Fun Palaces weekend at Exeter Library composer Simon Belshaw is putting on a performance of Music Machine 1. We are looking for people who would like to be involved. No musical skill, ability or instrument are required (although having one or more of those will not exclude you) and it's open to all ages. Come along to the Rougemont Room at Exeter Library at 1:00 on Saturday 1st October to join in.

The exceptionally talented urban artist, My Dog Sighs made an appearance today at Exe Bridges, in St Thomas, Exeter, where he was joined by many other "great paint throwers" after having been invited to redecorate the undersides of the bridges on the banks. This team of craftspersons will be working Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2016, transforming the bridges into platforms of colour and vibrance, brightening up the city and giving the Exe Bridges area the new vivacity that it needs. Devon and Cornwall Police are working closely with the organisers of a music festival to be held on the Powderham estate, near Exeter, this weekend to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

The Lockdown festival, organised by UK Live, runs on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of September.

Fire at Exeter's Cavern Club

Firefighters were called to tackle a fire in the kitchen of Exeter's Cavern Club just after 10pm last night (Tuesday).

One fire appliance from Danes Castle was mobilised to a fire alarm sounding. On arrival smoke was seen coming from the property, and crews requested further assistance. Appliances from Danes Castle and Middlemoor were mobilised.

Crews got to work with two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
