The Darkness of the Moor film premiers on Dartmoor

The Devon media premiere of The Darkness of the Moor took place this week at the Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre in Princetown, Devon.

This latest film from One Big Mop Productions is set entirely on Dartmoor and is a horror thriller about the moor itself and surrounding legends. Filming completed in March this year.

120 people attended the event including the cast, crew and representatives from several local organisations involved in the production.

The event also coincided with the media launch of the film’s own exhibition which will continue indefinitely...

This year’s exciting annual Exeter Charity Motorbike Show is on Sunday 6 August. Everyone is welcome, whether you ride a motorbike or just fancy a fun afternoon out.

This is the fourth year the event has happened. There will be hundreds of motorbikes of all types from trikes and cruisers to sports bikes and the more vintage two wheeled machines turning up to help raise money for charity. The show takes place at the Queen’s Head pub, 270 Pinhoe Road, Exeter, EX4 7JQ from 1pm to 5pm.

The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Lesley Robson, will be in attendance at the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir’s (BSMVC) Concert on Saturday 5th August at Exeter Cathedral.

The gala Concert, which is being held in support of Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) in celebration of their 25th year of service, is sure to be a sensational event. Tickets are on sale at Exeter Cathedral box office at £15 for front nave and £12 for side and rear nave, with concession discounts at £10 and £8 for students, £6 and £5 for children.

The 11th Lapstock Music at the Mill festival last weekend was heralded a resounding success by organisers despite torrential rain on the Saturday evening.

1600 festival goers descended on the mid-Devon village of Lapford and defied the weather to hear some 30 acts over two nights including a free session for new and undiscovered local talent on the Friday night.

Internationally-renowned, Devon-based ceramicist Bruce Chivers has donated an exquisite Japanese-inspired vase to the collections at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM).

A fun-filled family day is being held on Exmouth's Maer Local Nature Reserve on Friday August 4 and East Devon District Council 's Countryside team will be there along with a number of other wildlife organisations.
