An Evening with an Immigrant

Exeter Philharmonic Choir: The Glorious Baroque

Handel’s Zadok the Priest and Let thy Hand be Strengthened were both composed to be performed at the Coronation of British monarchs. Soprano Kirsty Hopkins will perform Vivaldi’s sublime Nulla in Mundo Pax. The concert will culminate in Bach’s triumphant Magnificat in D. The choir will be conducted by Howard Ionascu and accompanied by the Exeter Chamber Orchestra led by Julie Hill. EXHIBITIONS

Devon Remembers
Exeter Cathedral
Handmade poppies to pay a moving tribute to the 11,500 men and women from Devon who lost their lives in the First World War. The exhibition will be open after the service on Remembrance Sunday. Cathedral admission charge applies at all other times. The exhibition is open daily until 14 November.

Exeter’s Fine Art Collection: Modern
RAMM, Queen Street, Exeter
The exhibition includes two works by the British Pop Art movement artist Brian Rice, gifted through the Art Fund and on display for the first time.This diverse selection features Barbara Hepworth’s remarkable figurative drawing Preparation, Leighton Hall Woolatt’s Post Eleven Speaking and Patrick Heron’s Two Vermilions, Green and Purple in Red.
