Local disability support service awarded £5,000 from The Cadbury Foundation

Local disability support charity, Community Equality Disability Action (CEDA), has received a £5,000 donation from The Cadbury Foundation, thanks to the support of local Mondelēz International employees in Crediton.

CEDA, which is a Devon-based charity dedicated to promoting the social inclusion of people with physical, sensory or learning disabilities, was selected by employees based at Mondelez International’s Crediton site, as part of The Cadbury Foundation’s annual ‘Your Charity, Your Choice’ programme.

An Exeter man who works with children who have been sexually abused is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for the NSPCC’s ‘Together for Childhood’ programme by running the London Marathon.

Bartosz Zaniewski, who works at the NSPCC’s service centre in Plymouth, set himself the challenge in order to highlight how organisations across the city are working together with local communities to find out the best way to prevent child sexual abuse.

East Devon man takes on gruelling 8-day endurance event to raise funds for bereavement charity

An East Devon man is challenging himself to complete a gruelling endurance event to raise money for two charities, Child Bereavement UK and BigMoose. In June, James Page will be completing a Classic Continuous Deca Iron Triathlon event, which will see him do a 24-mile swim, 1120-mile cycle ride and a 262 mile run, in just 10 days or less. The current world record is 7 days 22 hours and the British record 8 days 6 hours.

RGB Building Supplies raised a fantastic £822.65 for the Exeter Chiefs Foundation on Monday 18th March during a company-wide charity breakfast morning.

Visitors to RGB's Exeter branch were able to enjoy a bacon roll and hot drink served by Chiefs' star Phil Dollman in return for a donation to the Foundation, which raises money for 20 community organisations across the region. As a member of the charity's Foundation XV programme, RGB have pledged to raise £1,500 in a year. In addition to the breakfast morning, two members of staff will be taking on a tandem sky dive in June....

Charities and organisations in Devon can now apply for a grant following the formation of a dedicated charity foundation set up by the Hendy Group to provide grants to local projects, people, events and charitable organisations.

Hendy Foundation is set to provide grants from £500 to £5,000 and is dedicated to making a difference to people’s lives in the areas in which the group operates.

The group has 57 franchise outlets across 30 location and employs more than 1,100 people in Exeter, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Devon.

Members of the Exeter & Heart of Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association raised a whopping £800 for Hospitality Action at this year’s annual dinner held at Mercure Southgate Hotel on Monday 4th March.

A big week is in the planning as CEDA launch the Impossible Arts festival taking place from Easter Monday.

CEDA is a registered charity working with disabled adults and young people across Devon, providing learning, social and cultural experiences.

Exeter Chiefs Foundation celebrates another bumper year

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation charity is celebrating one of its most successful years to date after raising £230,823 during 2018.

A total of £217,404 was handed out to more than 30 organisations during the 12-month period, compared to £164.950 the year before.

One of the largest donations was made to Exeter’s Hospiscare to fund a major refurbishment project.
