RGB Building Supplies is delighted to announce it has selected Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) as its chosen charity and will be organising various fundraising events.

In 2018, DAAT assisted 1,102 patients, which included 162 in the Exeter and East Devon area. Having been established in 1992 the Trust has grown considerably and now runs two aircraft, which since the beginning of the year operate until 2amevery day.

As the aircrafts carry equipment that is not always available on land ambulances, DAAT’s doctors and paramedics are able to offer enhanced clinical care to patients.

Tracy Owen, Fundraising Manager at Devon Air Ambulance Trust, commented:

“We would like to thank RGB for choosing to support Devon Air Ambulance and we’re looking forward to working with them and their staff.  Support from businesses just like RGB really does make a huge difference in helping to save and improve the lives of our patients.”

Paul West, Branch Manager at RGB Exeter, added:

“Due to the nature of construction sites, it’s sometimes difficult for land ambulances to reach accidents easily, so in our industry air ambulances can be vital.  In 2018, it cost Devon Air Ambulance Trust £7.5m to keep its helicopters flying, which all came from donations and fundraising, and we’re delighted to have chosen it as our supported charity and do our bit to help DAAT keep flying.”

RGB will be holding regular fundraising activities to boost the amount raised, including a charity golf day.

RGB’s branches in Cornwall will be supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
