SW businesses raise £900 for FORCE Cancer Charity at Exeter Padel Tournament

Business from across the South West came together at City Padel Exeter to raise £900 for FORCE Cancer Chairty as part of a charity padel tournament hosted by Konker .

The event saw 12 local businesses compete in a friendly tournament, combining sport, networking and fundraising in support of Devon based cancer charity. The day aimed to create a relaxed and social alternative to traditional business events, while raising money for a cause with strong local impact.

Exeter Chamber of Commerce celebrated their 150th Exeter Anniversary in style with 360 people attending the annual Exeter Business Dinner which took place on Friday 17th November at Sandy Park Conference Centre.

Charlie and AJ Courtenay, Earl and Countess of Devon, gave the main address of the evening, sharing their vision for Powderham Castle in the future, as well as an insight into the ancient family’s part in the city and region’s history.

Employee owned law firm increases profit share staff pay-out

The first large law firm in the UK to bring in employee ownership has shared £800,000 equally between all of its eligible staff members. Met Office wins project of the year at national awards

The building complex that houses part of the Met Office’s new supercomputer at Exeter Science Park was declared one of the best projects in the UK at the construction industry’s annual ‘Oscars’.

Willmott Dixon’s work to build the facility that houses the new supercomputer was declared Project of the Year in the £20m-£50m value category at the Construction News awards, with judges hailing this ‘unique’ building.
