The summer ended with an extra ray of sunshine for Amy Langford when she was promoted to Associate Solicitor.

Amy joined The Family Law Company in 2017, attracted by the prospect of working for a specialist firm where she would have a team of family lawyers around her.

She started her career as a Chartered Legal Executive before converting in 2016 to become a Solicitor. Her promotion to Associate Solicitor is in recognition of Amy’s high standards of work and is the next step on the legal career ladder.

Amy says she was drawn to family law because of the positive impact she can have on people’s lives. “For me, it’s knowing I can help and support people from the start of their journey with us right through to the best conclusion for them; I feel I am part of their healing process.”

Her work in family law includes advising clients in relation to divorce and the financial consequences of a marriage breakdown and supporting parents in relation to disputes regarding the arrangements for their children as well as handling domestic abuse cases.

“My approach is to provide empathy and understanding, but also to manage expectations. And although the company ethos is for non-confrontational approach, when a tougher stance is needed, I, like all my colleagues, will step up to achieve the best result for my client.”

Business Development Director Rachel Buckley says Amy’s promotion is in line with the company’s policy to reward achievement and commitment. She said:

“Although Amy has only been with us for just over a year, she has become a vital member of the team, and has shown us her ability to get the right result for clients. This promotion reflects the high regard she is held in.”
