Exeter Library hosts a special free event for entrepreneurs at Start-up Day 2018

The Business & Intellectual Property (IP) Centre Devon is hosting a free event for entrepreneurs at Exeter Library on Thursday 20th September in partnership with the British Library. The workshops will provide expert free advice for those looking to develop a new idea into a profitable career.

The Business & IP Centre Devon follows a programme and ethos developed by the British Library, London, providing support to business owners, entrepreneurs and inventors. There are currently 11 Business & IP Centres across the UK, of which two are in Devon.

Start-Up Day 2018 is being sponsored for the first time by banking and business experts Santander. The event will offer free impartial advice and encouragement delivered by library staff, guest speakers and new business start up companies who have seen the benefits for using services delivered by The Business & IP Centre Devon.

Highlights of the day include, Theo Davies of Bang Creations Bristol – he will be providing an insightful talk on how to develop an invention, plan or prototype. The day’s keynote speaker has been announced as, Stewart Noakes of Exeter Management Consulting. Stewart is known for his expertise as a mentor, coach, advisor and non-executive director for companies around the world.

The library’s Business & IP Centre will also be showcasing its vast and free resources which combine access to free market intelligence, industry reports and face-to-face advice from experts on starting and protecting a business idea resource as well as signposting to other organisations to help start-ups forge ahead with their business ideas
