Exeter lawyer to retire
Deborah Ogle is to retire from WBW Solicitors on 28th June, after almost 30 years in the legal industry.
Deborah joined Silverthorne Colthorpe in 1995, having qualified as a solicitor in 1987 after attending the University of Kent at Canterbury. She was made a partner in 1997 and joined WBW as a partner in 2008 when the two firms merged.
As a partner, Deborah specialised in all aspects of commercial property work, including landlord and tenant and development projects, as well as having a particular interest in estates, equestrian, and agricultural property.
Many commercial property specialists across Devon will know Deborah due to the extensive work she has done both locally in Exeter, and countywide, with her specialist skills being
utilised right the way from Exeter, down the A38 corridor and into Cornwall.
Sarah Witheridge, partner and Head of Property at WBW Solicitors has worked alongside Deborah for the last 21 years. It will be the first time in Sarah’s career that she will be practicing without Deborah by her side. Sarah describes Deborah as ‘’an incredible support, she is unflappable under pressure and has a knack of solving tough problems. Deborah has a unique talent for looking at the bigger picture whilst also having the ability to hone in on the finer details that most would overlook. It is these attributes that have made Deborah so successful, an expert in her field and such an integral part of the firm.’’
Deborah is also part of WBW Farms and Estates Team and has a very keen interest in Point to Point horse racing, other equestrian activities and country pursuits. She and her husband and two sons live near Buckfastleigh where they have a hill farm. Deborah will be commencing her retirement with a family trip to Botswana, Africa.
The business as a whole will very much miss Deborah and the wider commercial property community in Devon will, without fail, miss her legal expertise.
