East Devon District Council will be closing its Camperdown Terrace car park in Exmouth from Monday 15 May to Friday 26 May in order to carry out works to expand the existing pay and display car park into the adjacent former Devon County Council highways maintenance depot.

The expansion works will increase the number of existing parking spaces from 39 to a total of 112 spaces.

As the preferred trailer car and trailer parking area for the newly refurbished Mamhead Slipway, the new layout will include parking for almost 30 cars with trailers, as well as an area that will be zoned off to provide free parking for unhitched trailers while users are at sea. This will be a flexible arrangement, which can be expanded to cope with additional demand as necessary.

While work is being carried out, there will be no vehicular or pedestrian access to the car park and walking diversions will be in place.

The works will be completed by i-Civils, who were appointed by East Devon following a tender process, during which submissions from ten different contractors were received.
