Solicitors at Beviss & Beckingsale raised two grand in two weeks by writing and amending wills for clients in exchange for a donation to local charity Hospiscare.

The Honiton-based law firm raised a total of £2,004 to help care for patients living with a terminal illness in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

Lawyers at Beviss & Beckingsale’s office in Honiton raised £1,044, a further £500 came from the Chard office, £385 from staff in Axminster and £75 from Seaton.

Richard Cousins, Hospiscare corporate relationships manager, said: “Beviss & Beckingsale has taken part in our Wills Fortnight campaign for a number of years, and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support. As a local charity Hospiscare needs to raise over £5 million each year from voluntary donations - support from local businesses such as Beviss & Beckingsale is vital in helping us reach this figure.”

Mark Ollier, the firm’s senior partner, added: “Our solicitors take great personal satisfaction from supporting Hospiscare Will Fortnight. This is a very practical way we can contribute to the work of an excellent charity providing care for patients and families in our local community.”

More than twenty local firms took part in Hospiscare Will Fortnight in May raising more than £16,000 between them to provide palliative care across Exeter, East and Mid Devon.
