Tiverton Housebuilder Devonshire Homes handed over a cheque to Devon charity Hospiscare this week marking a year of fundraising that saw the company exceed its target amount by £2,316.00.

Last April, the company pledged to raise £10,000 over the year. To achieve this figure various fundraising and sponsorship events were planned and held.  This included Devonshire Homes pledging £50 for each open market sale; sponsorship from entering a team in the Great West Run; fundraising activities such as ‘Bake-Off’ and themed work days plus sponsorship at a Golf Day as well as two cabaret evenings.

Devonshire Homes Managing Director Steve Russell said: “We are delighted to present this cheque to such a worthwhile Devon charity.  I am proud of all Devonshire Homes staff and associates who have supported the company’s endeavours to raise money.”
Devonshire Homes have also decided to continue working with Hospiscare for the coming year – this time helping them refurbish some of their patient facilities.

Richard Cousins, Hospiscare Corporate Relationship Manager said: “Devonshire Homes has raised an amazing amount of money for Hospiscare in 2015 and on behalf of our staff and volunteers I would like to thank them for their support, which is vital in helping us care for our patients at a time when they need it the most. I am delighted that the partnership has been extended into 2016 and I look forward to working with Steve and the team again next year.”

Hospiscare provides free care and support for patients and their families living with a terminal illness and has centres in Mid Devon, East Devon and Exeter.  It needs to raise £5million each year to care for the 2,000 patients who use its services.
